Double page Draft

Here is one draft of my double page spread i dont think i shall use this one as i feel the blue i got in the style of the first double page i looked at, looks to cheep.

i like this to part emulate with the other magazine i have done a write up about, for the reason i like the way they have put the mast head on with the faded look in the background but it still pops off from it also. the fonts used i also quite like as there is the huge one in the back with a posh fluent font on top.

Start to my double page spread

here is a start to my double page spread i have given a rough rusty background which gives a strong defined effect on the genre of the music that would be advertised in this magazine. i understand that using the rough rusty background would be harder to read the writing on so there is a clear space nearer to the bottom, although i am currently looking fo a new background with the same effectiveness but doesnt make it hard to read at the same time.

Beating The Media

• light app of magazine where you can see the pages with the cover stories on
• A full app where you are able to download the full magazine to your smart phone or tablet weekly on itunes or android market
• put out a website with all the latest information
• get my magazine sponsored and give it away for free as i will gain more money through the sponsorship than selling them individually 
• advertising in big name news papers ie. The Sun, The Indipendant and The Daily mail
• advertising on big name TV channels ie. ITV, Channel 4 and Sky
•  posters on bus shelters and on billboards
• radio advertisment on big radio stations ie. Heart, Kiss, Radio 1-4 and Jack FM

Double Page Research

Here is a good example of a good double page spread of a magazine. This is good as the mast head stands out and and asks the reader a question and makes the reader what to read on to find themself and answer. the images are used affectivly as they use a group shot but they are all fadded with dull colours with on main focus of one character lighting up the page which attracts the reader to the page. The paragraph is neetly places down the far right side of the page still being able to read but not distracting from the main focus.

here is my completed contents page and i have decided to put the brick wall in from the origional photo as i feel that it gave the page layers and makes it stand out much, much more.

Contents Page Almost Done & How I Done It

here is my contents page almost finished
showing my understanding of how to presentate my contents page. I done this by having a picture as a min focus as it relates to the main story on the main page and main ifo on the other pages in a collum down the right with main headings stating which part is which, also the actual work 'contents' is in bold at the top so you are able to recognise imeaditly what page it is.

More Contents Research

This magazines contents is on a double page spread. I like it because of it simplicity  and how the high quality photograph makes a good centre piece. For my magazine I am only doing a single page contents page and I would do something like the one above but cut it in half as it leaves part  of the main focus but doesn’t distract from the main, yet at the same time you still do understand the information 

On this contents page from Vibe you see a picture of two femail artists , they are the main story in the mag as they are the main focs and overpower everything else on the page. to their side is the other info in the mag and the color scheme is white and black and on the plain surace the pic stand out  

here is a simplistic contents page, this has its positives and negatives.
Positives: easy to read, know what is what, nothing that is not need
negatives: it is very basic, not a lot of effort would have go into it, does not grab attention, you kneed to read it by knowing what it is about unlike others where u can see a picture and u know what it is about ect...

This contents page shows Kanya West as the main focus this stands out also because he is a main streem celebrity. the heart stands out as it is the only colour filled obect on the page. the V beahind his is also a main attacion to he page as it efers to the V in Vibe magazine, all o the other info the magazine contains is to his side showing that it is not to distract frokm the main point of focus.

 One reason i have decided to look at a contents page with West on it is that I like the front covers he has also done and i done it in that style of work, so i thought it would be intresting how he would pose for the contents.
