this font is made for the time of children in need i belive it is done in the san serif as this way it looks more child friendly and the dots on the middle of it are there to represent pudsy bear.

15th anniverasy of Vibe
i believe they left the magazine plain to make the statement of it being their 15th anniverasy of Vibe and the picture was used of Jay-Z because he is a huge in the music industry and the piture is effective because it uses a good deal of shading and the picture is realy detailed and pops out although how little colour it has.
Vibe music magazine research
Three layers are used in styling this magazine the background, the writing and the picture in that order. The picture is on top as the main focus point the writing in in the middle and the mast is part hidden by the picture because the mast everyone one what it is and would take from the picture is it was on op and the writing goes around the outside to give the magazine a neat look.
I like this magazine as it has the one focus and stands out with the bright vibrant colours. With the picture looking straight into the camera you feel as it connects with you.
I believe the fonts used are just normal san serif because of the colours it doesn’t want to over do it and also just catching your eye you can see it but not wonder what is says because it is a bold good font.
This magazine form vibe in 1993 is very basic. There is very little photo manipulation except a picture to look like in the style of Litchstein, who done Pop art pictures, very much like the ones in comic books.
There is little colour difference it just the yellow and red which work well together but there is no change the colour are block. And the masthead it very bold and white to stand out although this is very basic and all can be done easily is Photoshop.
The only layering is the little box about Nas and Eminem. Although it is basic it is very eye catching because of the colour bit is not very pleasing to look at.
Evaluation on my school magazine
The techniques I used to produce my school magazine are photography and Photoshop. To start I researched some magazines that I like and written up what I like, don’t like, how they used colours effectively and attracted their target audience and so on. One I had done this I chosen the magazine I like the most and wanted to emulate for my magazine.
To start emulating it I first wen to and took pictures of what I thought would look good what i thought would catch the audience eye and what photos would be good to use to look like the emulation of the original magazine.
Once I had done my research and taken my photos I went into Photoshop and started my front cover emulation. To start I selected my photos and began to crop each person out of the background and layer the three main people on my front cover up. This had taken me a couple of attempts to get the pictures cropped out just right and layer them so it looked as so they were standing with each other and not edited.
The next stage I started on the fonts where I went on to the DaFont web site and searched fonts to attract my target audience. I found it very tricky getting the font onto my cover as it needed a lot of editing to get it onto the cover with no parts that looked unnatural.
The last stage was to put on the background and the little bits of text. I started with my background where I used one of my pictures where it had a tree in the background so I cropped it down to the tree and filtered it a couple of time and changed its colour to a dark pink this gave off a camo effect that I liked. Adding the little bits of text wasn’t too hard I just added the text into a text box and edited it to look different to the rest of the fonts and stand out.
Once my front cover was done I moved onto my Constance page this was not as challenging but I still found it difficult I research other magazines not specific to sport but I still thought it would be interesting to look at the different layouts, I found a layout I like in a fishing magazine.
This influenced my ideas to have a block colour bar to be running the side and across the top. Then I had put a picture off one of the people from my main cover to make a link between the two pages, to make the page numbers and the info for each page I what I thought looked quite abstract colours a cross between neon and glow filters on another tree.
I found doing all of this quite hard but also a good as I had learned to use Photoshop, more photography skills and how much effort is involved in producing a magazine.
And to conclude I feel that I had put in a good amount of effort but I also feel that I could have done more towards my out come but I was overall pleased with it.

The Magazine I Done My Emulation On For My School Magazine
This magazine aboove is the magazine I done my emulation of for my school magazine.
I choosen this magazine because i like its boldness and how I feel they used the colours effectively with the kit of england rugby team. the other reason i had choosen this magazine was because of its purpose as a sports magazine.
I also feel that because all of the players are looking at the camera it makes you feel more connected with the picture because it makes you feel that thay are looking at you and you turn to see it like if someone was looking at you in the street.
